Welcome 2015 with a bang!

James started 2015 on a rough note!!  January 2nd we were admitted into the hospital for 2 weeks because of GI issues.  He got a bug December 24th and it slowed his system down.  James intestines were not letting food pass and it was just sitting in his stomach.  He was backed up for several days so we went to get a bowel rest.  They pretty much hooked his long tube to his belly and just drained EVERYTHING from his stomach over a course of a week.  After a week of rest we were able to start giving him food again via gtube.  January 15th we were release to go back home and slowly feed him.

Valentine's Day He was finally back to full feeds over 45 minutes like he was before he got sick.  THANK goodness because it was hard to feed him over 3 hours before, during and after school!!

Besides that little bump in the road, James health has been good!! Knock on wood!!!

Nashville, TN

During the summer of 2002 I graduated from college and as my graduation gift, Jeff took me to Fan Fair down in Nashville Tennessee, Music City USA!!!  It is now called CMA music fest but will ALWAYS be known to us as Fan Fair... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CMA_Music_Festival

We saw so many great music acts, ate wonderful food and walked away a beautiful city.  From that summer, Jeff and I have been going down to Nashville ever summer and sometimes we even went during the winter.  Our last trip was December 2008, after we lost our son Jackson we needed to just go away for a bit.  We found out we were pregnant with James a few days before our trip, so we knew it was going to b a little while before we were going to make it back to Nashville, we just never thought it was going to be 4 years!!!

This summer are going to attempt to take James down so we can see the beautiful city as a family and James could experience some live music along the famous Broadway Ave, which is the "strip of Nashville".  There is always someone playing along the strip.

The only problem we would run into is, not having a van to take him down in.  If you are reading this blog and know of ANYONE who could help make this dream come true, please send them to James donation page... http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/322054

James should be able to have experience like any other child in this beautiful world.

Radio

My Facebook friend Patti Vasquez did such a wonderful thing for our family.  She was on the Steve Cochran show Thursday (AM 560) to talk about an upcoming show she will be performing locally.  While on the air she spoke about James.  Here the audio clip in the background of James video.

Here is what she wrote on her Facebook page: Thank you Steve Cochran for having me on 560 AM today. For those of you who missed it we talked about Stacy and her wonderful son James. To learn more and make a donation please visit :http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/322054/x/760336

Sick... still???

James is STILL SICK!!! can't this kid catch a break.  Started school after Labor Day and then came down with something after his surgery at the end of September.  October 5th he started to get really sick but we kept him home and handled it at home, no hospital stays... WELL the dreaded November comes along and BOOM James has pneumonia and we are in the hospital for a little less than a week.  We kept him home from school for weeks and then decided after winter break we will keep him home till March 4th because of cold and flu season.  I am not sure if it is Jeff coming and going from work or what but this kid is STILL really juicy and snotty!!  We might have a good day here and there when I think things will be taking a turn for the good and the next day junky monkey again!!!

CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!!

But how can you NOT LOVE on this little man!!!

Santa

Last night Jeff and I took James to go see Santa at this special event put on by a great organization called http://specialkidsday.org/.  Every year they put on an event for special needs families.  They give you gifts, food, face painting, you can listen to music and get your picture taken with Santa.  This is out 2nd year going and it was PACKED just like last year.  They might need to think about getting a bigger venue soon!!

Here is the picture we took as a family with Santa.  Sadly James has no neck, but it was a nice family experience!!

Been awhile...

Hello friends!!
It has been a while since I sat down to blog about James.  Since we last spoke we had a few fundraisers going.  I am pleased to inform you that we made a little over $500 for both events!!!  Every little but helps towards James new van.  We have been speaking with the company that will be helping us.  There have been a few new vans for sale around 43,000, so that helps us get an idea what we need to come to the table with.

James has been home sick all of November and finally went back to school on Monday.  He ended up going into the hospital with pneumonia!!  We knew it was going to happen but this year it struck us earlier than Thanksgiving... November 3rd to be exact.  We were in the PICU for about 4 days and 2 days on regular PEDs floor.

We had a great Thanksgiving!! I made James a turkey shirt.  Makes sure to check out my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/stacyraecreations

Today 12/5/12 we are going to meet Santa at a special event for special needs children and their families.  I will make sure to post a picture here!!

VNS

James had his VNS (http://us.cyberonics.com/en/vns-therapy-for-epilepsy/patients-and-families) inserted on Monday September 24th and he seems very uncomfortable.  He can't be on his belly just yet but we will be trying on Thursday or Friday.  He has been on oxygen to keep his stats up because he can't be on his belly to drain and open his airway.

Here are a few pictures of James:
